Visibility is the key to safety when riding during hunting season

Fall is one of the best times of year to ride. The heat of summer is replaced by crisp, frosty mornings and cool breezes during the day. The changing of the seasons not only brings beautiful colors to the leaves, but also hunters in search of game. Horses and hunters can share the land as long as we follow a few guidelines and use common sense.

Monica Raymond of horsetrailchicks.com wrote a great article called, Riding During Hunting Season. It’s jam packed with helpful tips for staying safe. I interviewed Monica and her partner in the website, Kerrie Garvey. We discussed common concerns that trail riders have, ways to stay informed, and close calls that we’ve had.
